Safety Coordinator

Minnesota is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join their team! This highly motivated, self starter individual will be under the supervision of the Regional Safety Manager and is responsible for, but not limited to:


  • Perform and document investigations into vehicle accidents, employee injuries, incidents, and near misses
  • Perform drug and alcohol testing on-site for all new hires, rehires, reasonable suspicion, and appropriate randomly selected employees
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new hire and re-hire employees
  • Conduct safety meetings, huddles, stand downs and surveys – Meet & work with clients to ensure compliance
  • Possess strong working knowledge of Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration regulations
  • Possess working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
  • Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, pipeline, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance – Audit subcontractors
  • Conduct incident review calls

Job Requirements:

Education and Certifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Required: OSHA 510/500 Certified


  • Required: 4+ years of construction safety experience
  • Preferred: OQ Evaluator

Functional/Technical Competency Requirements


  • Possess strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, management, and outside resources
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to adapt to abrupt changes in the work environment while managing competing demands, dealing with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Possess strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Associated position Certifications
