The Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) and Construction Equipment (CE) presented the 2018 Fleet Master Awards on March 21 in Orlando, FL. This award recognizes organizations that excel in cost-effective management of mixed fleets of on- and off-road mobile equipment. The 2018 Fleet Master Award for Large Fleets was presented to Minnesota Limited. The Large Fleet category was open to organizations that had a fleet replacement value greater than $100M. In attendance to accept the award for Minnesota Limited was Vic Krauze (Director of Fleet and Equipment), Ben Schrader (Equipment Manager – West Region), and Mike Twedt (Equipment Manager – East Region).
“Minnesota Limited was a clear stand-out for our judges. They showed dramatic improvement in maintenance cost per utilization hour by overhauling their entire maintenance program,” wrote AEMP and CE’s judging panel.
Nominees were asked to describe their fleet’s most significant achievement in the last year that demonstrates excellence in fleet management. The Fleet and Equipment department at Minnesota Limited wrote an essay detailing the base-lining of their heavy equipment fleet and general overhaul of the maintenance program. “The process to revamp our service program is still on going. This is an example of one accomplishment that led to another in order to better our equipment fleet, which in turn provides higher productivity for our project personnel and company as a whole,” said Twedt.
Formed in 1980, the Association of Equipment Management Professionals represents fleet professionals working in construction, government, utilities, energy, mining and more.
